The study of music stimulates the creative part of the mind and increases the student’s ability to focus.  This, in turn, helps with academic subjects – especially math.

The ability to sing or play an instrument reduces stress, and can have a lifelong impact.

For those who have the desire and talent, it might start a career in music: performing  or teaching.  Learning one instrument makes it easier to learn another.

Being able to sit down and play a piano (or organ) anywhere for others’ enjoyment is a popular skill.

Learn to play that “cool song.”  Be prepared to sing in a choir or a musical.
